Welcome to the Flotilla 15-9, District 1SR Web Site

Welcome to The SACANDAGA MOHAWK Flotilla

Welcome to Flotilla 15-09 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary's First Southern District. Named the Sacandaga-Mohawk Flotilla.

Flotilla 15-09’s area of responsibility includes Fulton, Montgomery and Schenectady counties and includes Great Sacandaga Lake and the Mohawk River from east of Erie Lock 7 to west of Erie Lock 15.  In addition, air patrols cover all of the First Southern, communicating with Sectors New York, Long Island Sound, Northern New England, and Air Station Cape Cod.

The Flotilla contributes thousands of man-hours toward the traditional Coast Guard Auxiliary functions of teaching boating safety courses and conducting vessel safety checks, routine on-water patrols, Search and Rescue (SAR), marine safety and environmental protection presentations, and maritime domain awareness operations. These operations are conducted shore side, on the road in Auxiliary vehicles, on the water in Auxiliary vessels, and in the air in Auxiliary aircraft, all of which are owned and supported (financially) by our members.
